17 Point Sake from Furosen: Yamahai Junmai Ginjo Shu
I stopped in at my favorite sake dealer in Kyoto and was pleased to find a sake from Furosen that I had not tried yet was scored as a 17 pointer. I had seen this sake but never purchased it. My friend at the store told me that even at the brewery they don’t have this sake in stock. He showed me a magazine for sake aficionados and this sake (and another from Furosen) were given scores of 17 out of a possible 20. The other excellent sakes were scored from 14 to 16. A 17 is really good!
I bought a bottle, came home and cracked it open.
